When you mix internal Hard Drive with Hard Drive enclosure you will get an External Hard Drive. All the Hard Drive when it used will generate heat, the heat will reduce the performance of the Hard Drive, so to make the Hard Drive still in good performance, the Hard Drive must cold or not too heat.
