How to Fix Hard Drive

You need to fix your Hard Drive when your Hard Drive is slowdown or error. To fix Hard Drive is very easy and the tool is already provided in the operating system. But why you need to fix your Hard Drive? You know that we all keep our data in hard drive, the manufacturer of the Hard Drive has creating a huge capacity and fast hard drive, but this large high performance of the Hard Drive will need more maintenance than smaller performance.

There are a few steps to fix your Hard Drive by using tools that already provided in the operating system:

-          CHKDSK to check your drive health.

CHKDSK is a windows application tool to check your drives health and find out how to fix Hard Drive failure. If you run the CHKDSK application tool, the CHKDSK will scan your Hard Drive for errors and will mark the error zone and give instruction to the computer to skip over or repair them.

This is the step of using CHKDSK :

- Open the “Computer” folder to see the list of drive you have in your computer.

- Select your Hard Drive to you wants the CHKDSK to run.

- Right click the drive and choose “Properties” then choose the “Tools” tab.

- Click “Check Now” button.

- Check the option of “Automatically fix file system errors” and “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” to fix your drive in case the CHKDSK find error.

CHKDSK is a very useful tool in windows you can use it every 2 or 3 moth to fix Hard Drive error and make your Hard Drive run faster.

-          Defragmenting your drive

Defragmenting the Hard Drive it is means reorganizing the files in to an efficient location. If the files placed in an efficient location, the files will get easily accessed so the computer will run faster and the performance will increase.

This is the step of defragmenting your computer:

- Open the “Computer” folder to see the list of drive you have in your computer.

- Select your Hard Drive to you wants to defrag.

- Right click the drive and choose “Properties” then choose the “Tools” tab.

- Click “Defragment Now” button.

- In the Disk Defragmenter menu. Click the “Defragment” button.

After you has fix your Hard Drive by using CHKDSK and you has reorder your files by using defrag it is the time for the last step that is:

-          Clean your Hard Drive

There are some inefficient data in your computer and you must clean it because when this inefficient data will make your computer run slow.

To clean your drive, follow this step:

-          Click Star menu and go to the “Programs”.

-          Go to the “Accessories” and choose “System Tools”.

-          Click “Disk Cleanup”

-          Choose the drive that you want to clean, than click “OK”

CHKDSK and defragmenting files process usually needs more time, so you must be patient with it and I suggest you to choose a good time to follow all of these steps above.
