Creating a Secure Wi-Fi Connection for Computer Protection

Computer protection is also needed in the wireless connection. We all know that wireless connection is the answer to create an easy network. We can easily create a hotspot by using Wi-Fi. Today Wi-Fi device is not expensive anymore; so many there are many users that use Wi-Fi devices like mobile phone.

Because of that, we need to give limitation, so only users that has permit can access the Wi-Fi. To do this we must secure the Wi-Fi connection. The first thing we must do is do not use the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) mode, because this mode is can be cracked easily.

We better use Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WAP II) mode for securing the Wi-Fi connection. If you cannot use this mode because your device it is not support with it you better upgrade it. But do not forget to create a long password that consist combinations of numbers and letters.

Manual protection is also can be use to protect the Wi-Fi network. We can use manual protection to the Wi-Fi network is by looking to the MAC address. There is no device that has same MAC address. MAC address is a unique number that has by the Wi-Fi network devices.

To easily see the MAC address, we better using software like “Connectify”. When this software is running, we can see all devices that connect to the Wi-Fi network that we have and when we find that there is devices with MAC address that we do not recognized we can easily disconnect it. So, our network can be saved and we can create a good protection for computer.
