Right now the development of storage drive is faster than before; you see that the different capacity of the storage drive is bigger every year. I still remember in the past few years, I was stunning when the first time I saw 1 GB of hard disk that sell in the market and that is very expensive for me.

If you look from the place, storage drive divide in two kinds, that is internal storage drive and External storage drive. Internal storage drive is placed inside the device or CPU and External storage drive is placed at outside the CPU. Internal storage drive is usually use as the main drive and also as place for the operating system. External storage drives usually use to save or backup the data and placed out side the CPU.

External storage drive usually is connected to the CPU by using USB or FireWire cable in to the USB port or FireWire port in the CPU. There is one type of External storage drive that needs reader that is memory card. This External storage drive has a card form and also has smaller form than any other storage drive. This memory card is like MMC, SD memory, Micro SD and etc, so it is need a card reader to make this memory card read and write able, than the memory card is connected to the USB port at the CPU by using USB cable (but some CPU has built in memory card reader so you do not need USB cable to connect it).

You must choose storage drive that suitable with your need. Right now in the market the price of the storage drive is cheaper but has bigger capacity every year.
