Today many human always mobile, so they carry their data or their work anywhere they go. The movement of technology that very has tries to answer this problem. To make this mobile life easy their need tools. One of the tools is laptop. Laptop is a small form of PC that has a small form so it can take anywhere, and also powered by batteries if not connected to AC or by AC if connected to them.

The price of laptop is cheaper right now. Long time a go laptop build with heavy weight and small capacity of Hard Drive. Now many laptop build with great technology and high capacity of Hard Drive. Hard Drive is used to store all your files like movie, music, documents, application and others. If your Hard Drive already full with your data, you will need bigger capacity Hard Drive. Choosing Hard Drive is not only choosing large capacity but also you must choose speed performance of the Hard Drive.

Maybe you want to upgrade your laptop Hard Disk, if you want to have a good laptop hard disk with good performance, you should buy hard disk with high rotation speed (spindle speed) and also large buffer cache size. And one more thing, you should buy laptop hard disk with SATA interface, because SATA hard disk has a good performance for your laptop.

SATA is Serial ATA, SATA hard disk is environmental friendly because SATA hard disk using less of power so it will save your battery laptop. SATA hard disk has a good speed performance if compare it to the other type of hard disk, so SATA hard disk also will increase your laptop speed performance. There are some types interface of Hard Drive, most Hard Drive interface usually support for ATA/66, Ultra ATA/100 or SATA. The different between all that types is at the data transfer speed to the system. Like ATA/66 has data transfer speed 66 MB/sec, Ultra ATA/100 have data transfer speed 100 MB/sec and SATA have data transfer speed 150 MB/sec. You can see that SATA have the highest data transfer speed among that three interface.

Hard Drive Speed.

Hard Drive speed is not only look by the data transfer speed, but also look by the Hard Drive rotational speed. The more high data rotational speed it better performance that you will have. A Hard Drive rotational speeds explain how many fast the drive spin in minutes (Rpm = Rotation per minutes). Hard Drive that sell in the market right now have 4200 Rpm, 5400 Rpm and 7200 Rpm. Remember more fast more performance.

Bigger Buffer Cache Size for a Better Performance.

Bigger buffer cache size will give great performance to your Hard Drive. Buffer cache size is a temporary data storage area so when the computer request data from the hard disk, the computer will take the data in the cache. Buffer cache size for Hard Drive laptop usually 2 MB, 4 MB or 8 MB. Remember bigger buffer cache size will give good performance for your laptop Hard Drive.
