Things that We Must Do after Our FaceBook Account has been hacked

At my post before I talk about How to Know Your FaceBook has been hacked, so I goggling to internet to find out the next steps that we must do after find that our facebook has been hacked. In this post I will share what I found.

1. Check your email.

We all know that FaceBook will send an email notification to our email address that link to our FaceBook account if we change our FaceBook password. So what we must do is check and opens our email notification from FaceBook. If we feel that we are do not change our FaceBook password, we must click the link that sent by FaceBook. After we open the link, click at “Continue” button. You will be asked by FaceBook to create a new password.

2. Change our FaceBook password.

I think that this is the first steps that we must do, but this steps can is only can be done if the hacker does not change our password. If we are lucky that our FaceBook account password has not been change by the hacker, we must change our password directly. To do this steps we must go to “Account Settings” menu and than go to “General” menu and after that got to “Password”. Type the current password at the current and then type the new password and re-type the new password again and after that click the “Save Changes” button.

3. Erase the application access that we do no need.

There is some application that created to hijack the FaceBook account. I think after this happen to use, we must erase the application that able to access our FaceBook account, but we are only erase the application that we do not need. To do this, go to “Account Settings” and then go to “Apps”. At this “App Settings” we can see all the level access by the third-party application has on our FaceBook.

4. Call all of our friends.

In this step we must call of our friends, because maybe the hacker using our data to creating fraud by using our account and maybe our friend become the victim. So, call all the friends personally to tell them that our FaceBook account has been hacked.

We are also must report to FaceBook about our account that has been hacked by someone, this is also must do, because probably someone that hacked our account is using our account for spam. We all know that spam is not allowed on the internet. To do this we must go to this address and that is “http://www.facebook.com/hacked/”. This address will bring you to “Report Compromised Account” window. Click “My Account is Compromised” button. After that we will be asked to fill the e-mail, username or our name and friends names to indentify our account.

After we all fill the column that asked by the FaceBook we are also asked to fill the old password and new password just like in the step 2 and 1.

I hope all of the steps above are clear and easy to follow so we are able to recover our FaceBook account back to normal again.
