To Make Your Data Save and Extend The Live of Hard Drive

If something bad happen to my computer, the first thing I will save is my Hard Drive, because the most important thing in my computer is my data and the data is stored in my Hard Drive. Because Hard Drive is fragile and Hard Drive consist all of my data, so Hard Drive is the most important thing in my computer. I think you have the same feeling like I do. Even there is nothing happen to my computer but still I have to make my Hard Drive live longer, in other words I must maximize the life of my Hard Drive and preventing loosing data in the Hard Drive.

So what I must do to make my Hard Drive live longer:

1. Handle it with care

Because Hard Drive is fragile I must handle Hard Drive with care and keep Hard Drive from falling, shock, high vibration and other careless thing that will make my hard drive failure and broken. In desktop computer careless thing not always happen, but if you having laptop computer careless thing beyond control always happen like theft, falling and hit in to hard thing.

So to prevent that happen I always handle with care of my laptop (like always put it on the laptop bag and try not to careless). To make my data save I always do regular backup my data in to my External USB Hard Drive and sometimes in to my DVD. (I do that very often)

2. Protection from the inside

Protection is not only from the outside, but also from the inside. I must take care of my Hard Drive by doing some maintenance program like defragmenting my Hard Drive. This is important in order to prevent my Hard Drive from crash and speed up accessing data of my Hard Drive. Utility maintenance already gives by Windows, and it is very easy to use it. But I using utility maintenance software that I download free from the internet, because it is faster in maintain Windows.

3. Another Protection

Electricity problem also can make my Hard Drive broken like suddenly dead electricity, not stable electricity and many others. To prevent from problem like this I use the UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) that combine with electricity stabilizer.

The other thing that I am doing to keep data from loosing and extend the live of my hard drive is always monitoring disk health and performance. Also using updated antivirus to make my data stay away from virus. And the most important thing is always backup my data to my External USB Hard Drive. We all don’t know when Hard Drive failures happen. So get ready the umbrella before rain happen.
